Owners comments: Despite all the history on this issue, after 2 weeks the KTM dealer is still waiting for a response from KTM! Dealer has inspected and provided photos; significant cam and associated wear is obvious. Problem identified by metal contaminants on magnets during oil change. This is not just a "discoloured" camshaft! I have also emailed KTM twice with zero response. Bike has been dealer serviced at required intervals, with oil/filter additionally changed at halfway point between service, using OEM filters and oil purchased ex Dealer. Standard oiled air filter in place, plus Rottweiler Power Plate for additional pre-filter, so definitely no dusting involved
